burnt from REDANG ISLAND

I guess it’s time to blog about my rendang redang trip over the national day weekend. yup i wasn’t in singapore to watch the ndp. oops. but i’m still very much a singaporean. haha. anyway the place i visited is called REDANG island located in malaysia not RENDANG. haha rendang can be eaten de. lols.

first day was pretty much spent on a 10 hour bus ride which was pretty torturous considering the trip to genting took 7 hours already. anyway we took the night bus and reached there the next morning. it was then followed by a 1 hour ride via the speedboat to reach our long awaited REDANG ISLAND. almost wanted to puke by then. gosh. >.< but the beachview that greeted us made the journey worthwhile. super clear waters, shall let the pictures do the talking. =)

had some luch after that and rested awhile before we went swimming! the seawater was super salty but very beautiful. my cousin joked that the seawater can cure any ulcers we had and asked us to drink more. lols. saw schoals of small fishes which was a pretty amazing sight. haha. but swimming in the open sea to points where your feet were unable to touch the ground made me nervous sometimes. the uncertain feeling of being unable to swim back to shore creeps me at some points. haha but all’s safe so yup quite fun and a very different experience. =) swimming was for warming up and what followed after was SNORKELLING~~~ took a speedboat to deeper waters where we saw corals and fishes. the corals looked breathtaking cos there was a vast area of corals all just within sight under the water. haha should have been a very fun experience but i realised that i was SEASICK~~ felt super nauseous after awhile cos of the life vest and the special snorkelling googles. went back to the boat and saw alot of people puking and the shaky boat made me want to puke too. EEEW~~ so i went back to the sea and floated aimlessly. quite wasted cos otherwise i would have gone further and saw more marine life =( anyway soon it was time to go back to shore which was quite a relief. phew. went back to wash up and went for dinner. we went exploring the island after that where we went for open ktv at the bar. anyway the night sky at the island was very starry and it was very pretty. don’t get to see so many stars in singapore already.

third day

decided to give snorkelling a miss the next day and slept in. when i slept the last night, i still felt as if i was floating in the sea. aha the after effects of seasickness i guess. went swimming with my sis instead and suntanning too~ i’m super burnt not tanned. SUNKISSED~  haha i want to think i have a healthy glow but my friends just say it’s la sub tanned. haha. sian. they still think i look nicer with fair skin. seh~~ anyway my aunties rented the MJ set and i took over my mama for a couple of games but didnt win. my aunties too pro le laa. haha. after dinner, we went to k at the bar as usual where my cousin got some yan yu. so happening my cousins. i old liao~ lols. anyway redang island got no tv and not much entertainment so got limited stuff to do and that’s why we go k-ing every night while my uncles and aunties chill at the bar and chit chat.

FINAL DAY~

had breakfast before we departed for HOME! overall not a wasted trip cos we went a a family. bonding with my long time no see cousins was nice~ haha not bad for a weekend getaway. it would have been better if i weren’t seasick la. bah~~~~

circuit driving… very scary

had my very first circuit driving today and gosh it sucked. the roads were narrow, it was my first time entering the circuit and everything was so confusing. even hill start seems difficult. the slope is super steep so scary like roller coaster. and now i’m questioning my ability to pass on the first try after learning for one whole year. gosh i need to prove my friends and family wrong but after this lesson, really seems to me that chances are quite slim. i think i will die at circuit. =( boo~ i’m so nervous that i went to book another 2 more circuit lessons on top of my already booked 5 lessons. gosh i gotta do it man and wish me luck.

had been spending time meeting up my uni friends, NYD and MJ sessions. school’s starting soon. how i wish holidays could go on and on….

anyway caught a movie “overheard” with my family the other day at ehub. would probably rate it 3 stars out of 5 cos the first half of the movie was really quite draggy and i couldn’t really tell who was who. louis koo look so tui fei. sian. haha. daniel and louis died in the end, was quite a tragic ending.

haha enough of random ramblings. that’s all. =) going to redang island over the weekend. looking forward to pretty beaches =) and get ready to be tanned when i come back.

i’m an early bird TODAY

freaking crawled out of my bed at 8 plus AM today to watch the rare phenomenon of the century. TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE. lols though it was not happening in singapore, as in the effects are less obvious but i was excited to see how the day can turn dark witin minutes. and to say the truth, i was quite excited and shocked at the change caused by the solar eclipse. i mean it was really cool. One minute it is morning and another minute it feels like night time. but it only lasted for afew minutes though. nevertheless, though i was just watching the eclipse from the tv, i felt excited too watching the moon slowly inching towards the sun and finally covering it whole. lols. very random blog entry but yeah i am into the “discovery” thingy recently. lols. da vinci and now sloar eclipse. how cool is that?

our weekly gathering with nyd at lagoon! haha and this time yan drove us there safely and back. kudos to her and her car =) haha that means we are old already cos we have a chauffeur. haha that’s what lala says. but it’s great having a car man, dun need to get to lagoon all sweaty from bus rides and walking. can’t wait to get my license too!

here’s the food we ordered. yumyum orh lua at lagoon is nicer than 85. haha.

after dinner, we went off to bedok mac to chill and i ate cinnamon melts for the first time! not bad cos i like flour! lols like the pretzels from auntie anne’s! but shuning, jiaxian and meixin think it’s like white bread. haix different! haha.

and our gathering ended when lala went off earlier to meet her friends and yan sent us home! =))

thursday 160709

woke up to a bright and early morning to visit the science centre with MDJSJ. lols. trying to be cool eh, actually just me, meixin, shuning and huiyuan. haha. we went to mac @science centre for our lunch before setting out to explore the entire science centre. haha the last time i visited the science centre was during jc1 with my pw group mates. we went there to attend a seminar about nanotech but ended up playing in the science centre. haha since then, have not set foot there again until today. haha i think they were in a curious state of mind.

we paid 24 bucks for science centre admission, imax theatre and the all famous DAVINCI exhibition. so we started off with science centre and it was there we were literally transformed into small kids, running around to explore the exhibits and stuff. and i discovered i’m super strong man!! haha. call me superwoman. lols. we then went on the view the davinci exhibiton. truth to be told, i think abit waste money. lols cos the exhibits were not the original ones and the variety of the exhibits were quite limited. but i did learn some new knowledge from the exhibition. haha i feel more knowledgable and wise already. like the secrets behind mona lisa painting, the last supper and blah blah. anyway i really think leonardo is a genius. super smart de. haa after that we went off to imax theatre to watch SEA MONSTERS where i was asleep throughout half of the movie. haha. can tell how interesting the show must have been. haha.

anyway went for driving later and met up with them again at tamp for dinner and a lil chit chat session. lols. =) chit chat session to be continued. haha. anyway majority of photos still with huiyuan!!! i want photos! lols.

sending huiyuan off at the airport tomorrow. 1 month just passed in a flash and now she’s going back again. but i will see her in nov again! =) more outings till then.

friday 100709
took leave from work for course registration and didn’t expect it will be my last day of work too. =( my current campaign ended and i have to wait for an upcoming one which i dunno when. only 18 days left to end july. so few days to work already and i’m having blanga week. =( no money. guess i have to be more diligent about finding tuition jobs instead.

went to watch transformers 2 on friday night. didn’t watch transformers 1 but i still managed to grasp the content of the movie. haha it was a great show. very action packed. well worth the ticket price. =) met up with long time no see shiqi. haha. camwhored a lil and photos are with huiyuan and jiaxian. i want photos~~~ went home to watch transformers 1 and that totally changed my perception of transformers. i tot it was going to be just about robots and stuff but i was totally wrong. the movie rocks and i will be looking forward to transformers 3 if there is one. =))

saturday 110709
went to rebond my hair cos it was a bad hair day everyday with these curly roots dangling out like mad. couldn’t stand it so after being introduced by serene and ah ma, decided to go to twister for a try. =) 160 bucks gone but i like my new hairstylist. i think i will be going back to twister for future haircuts and stuff. haha. after being done with my hair, ah ma was nice enough to wait for me and we went for a lil shopping around hougang mall. spent 50 bucks for a blazer which i had been eyeing for a long time. haha ah ma gave the green light and i went on to pay for it. so glad i bought it finally cos only 1 piece was left. and my mama said it was nice too =)

went for my long awaited dinner buffet at hibiki. called the restaurant to reserve seats way way before the buffet started to prevent disappointment. but the food was quite disappointing. the variety was quite limited and the food was just average. -___- the first 2 plates of salmon sashimi was good. but subsequently the salmon slices got thicker and thicker and it was bleah. X__X we were thinking may be by the 10th plate or so, they will serve us the whole salmon and ask us to slice it ourselves. haha. anyway i think it will be the first and final time we are visiting that place. i think sushi tei is alot better. =))

IT’S OVER … finally

i took leave today for my course registration and i swear that course registration was freaking me out. it’s nerve racking all the fastest fingers first stuff! arghh. so glad that it’s over. but i still have another 3 more battles like these to fight on. 3 more sems to go.

today i woke up at 8am due to the fine tuning of my biological clock. too used to waking up at 8 already. but i tried to sleep in and i had a nightmare. gosh. i dreamt that i forgot all about course registration which was supposed to start at 130pm. i was watching the tv and then when i realised it was time for registration, it was already 240pm. and i panicked and i freaked out and was in tears. =( and then i woke up from this terrible nightmare! gosh

but now that it’s over, i can finally heave a sigh of relief and wait for 7 aug where results of electives will be out by then. and wait for 11 aug to add/drop electives and the war begins again. -___-

FREAKING OUT

i’m freaking out from the timetable planning!!! what if i don’t get the mods i want. haix i rather they allocate the timetable to me. no need to be so troubled. sigh. bidding on friday and i haven’t finish planning. and i don’t even know how the system works cos i have never done it before. gosh~~~

haha i’m finally updating cos i’m afraid i will abandon my blog eventually. -___- which isn’t a good thing. so i’m striving to keep up with my frequent updates amidst work, driving and whole lot of other stuff.

Father’s day was celebrated with a dim sum buffet  treat at goodwood park hotel. wanted to go for sushi buffet at hibiki but it was closed. we were too late, so decided to change location to goodwood since i heard many good reviews about the food there. but i wonder if my expectations were too high or the food was really average, but i really thought it was average. The dim sum buffet did not have alot of variety and tasted average. durian pudding was abit too creamy for me. eventually, my family didn’t like it very much and we decided we will not be going back for future meals. =(

Meet up with na yi dui on thursday to celebrate ser min’s bday at ah ma’s house. ahha ah ma just had her wisdom tooth extracted and her face looked super puffy. “hen xiang hen hao nie” haha. took lots of photos but photos at huiyuan and yan’s camera. no photos to upload again. sian. sarah baked cheesecake and it was super nice =)) of cos the cake we bought at prima was not too bad either. so my dinner that night mainly consisted of cakes. how healthy was that. haha. anw the day ended on a fun note though the gathering was a tad too short. Next gathering will be good food at undecided location. will be looking forward to that =)

went to hibiki tonight for dinner again but we were unlucky again. didn’t reserve seats and the restaurant was said to be full. so dinner at a chinese seafood restaurant at the singapore flyer. after dinner, we walked around and took some photos before going home. Meimei ending holidays already. haha.

 

btw i bought ettusais nail polish the other day and decided to diy by painting each nail in different colours. haha. anw can ayone guess what the pink bottle is? haha.

 

answer: it’s actually a nail polish remover without the use of cotton pads or anything. just dip your fingernail inside and the nail polish will be removed. =)) cute eh? bought it at watsons the other day. haha.

third day of work already. getting used to the job but can feel the increasing level of pressure to meet my daily target. haha and before i can even see money rolling into my bank, i’m already experiencing deficit due to my impulsive shopping behaviour. OMG. i’m such a great spender. couldn’t agree more. and it’s really getting worse with GSS evrywhere. -___-

went shopping at mango yday after work and bought 2 tops for myself and 1 cardigan for my mama cos she couldn’t bear to part with her 59 bucks the other time when she tried on the cardigan though it was nice. so mango was having this crazy sale and prices were slashed to 29 bucks which was half. phew luckily didn’t buy it the other time or else very gek! after that went for dinner at pastamania and shopping at etude house~~~ whee. my husband’s shop. lols. i became member with 50 bucks spending. super satisfied. =) *wide smiles*

today gathering with na yi dui at tampines 1 and we ate pastamania again! oh gosh! consecutively. haha but different kind of pasta so still okayy. after dinner went to shop around before settling at mac for abit of chit-chat session. haha yan’s ipod shuffle super cool. tempt me to buy sia. but i’m still quite undecided cos i want ipod touch but super expensive! i need someone to tell me that i’m not that rich man! haha. but i doubt i can change my spending habits. haha it’s a bad habit! sigh. anw next outing at ah ma house! =) but have driving lessons that day so most probably will join them later. =)
